September is the main intake almost everywhere: the most courses, the most scholarships, the most competition. January is smaller but often the better move for a student who finished HSC late, still needs an English score, or wants a quieter application window. Not every course runs in January, so the choice is made per university, not per country. The worst option is missing September by two weeks and waiting a full year.
